About Bridgelight
A Tanzanian clearing and forwarding company built around one idea: that compliance done properly is the fastest way through a port, not the slowest.
Bridgelight Logistics Company Limited is a Tanzanian clearing and forwarding company, incorporated under the Companies Act, 2002 and licensed to move cargo through the Port of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s customs points and the regional corridors that run inland from them.
We were formed around a simple observation: cargo rarely fails because of the freight rate. It fails because a document is inconsistent, a permit was never applied for, a declaration is wrong, or nobody escalated a problem until it had already cost the client money.
Our operating model therefore places customs documentation, regulatory coordination, freight movement and inland delivery under one accountable team, so responsibility never falls between service providers. For importers, exporters, mining and industrial clients, that means early document review, disciplined declarations, shipment visibility and coordination that holds from entry point to final destination.
Trade is a human business. Files are handled by named people who answer the phone, escalate early, and tell a client what a document actually says rather than forwarding it onward. Trust is earned consignment by consignment.
The company was incorporated in September 2024. The experience that runs it is considerably older than the company, and we would rather say so plainly than imply a corporate history we do not have. What a client is buying is the judgement of the practitioners handling the file.
Clearing & compliance
Prepares and lodges declarations, argues valuation and classification queries with the assessing officer, and holds the file until release and delivery are complete.
Transit & corridor
Runs consignments moving under customs control to the borders of exit — documentation, seal and handover control, and the records that close the movement out.
Client advisory
Works with importers ahead of purchase: classification, exemption eligibility, permit requirements and a landed cost that a finance team can rely on.
Customs clearing in East Africa is a licensed profession. Our technical staff hold, or are working toward, the East African Customs Clearing and Freight Forwarding Practising Certificate issued through the Institute of Tax Administration — the training institution of the Tanzania Revenue Authority. The company itself holds a TRA Customs Agent’s Licence authorising it to act as a General and Transit agent in East Africa under the East African Community Customs Management Act.

Critical cargo
Pharmaceutical, diagnostic and relief shipments receive priority handling and pre-arrival regulatory coordination, because this cargo reaches people who are waiting for it.
Revenue integrity
Accurate valuation and classification mean the revenue due to Tanzania is collected. Under-declaration is not a saving — it is a liability transferred to our client.
People
We take on Tanzanian graduates and support them through Institute of Tax Administration study toward their own practising certification.
Ask for the compliance lead who would handle your account, and speak to them before you sign anything.
